Hey guys.  Just thought I’d pop on here for a second and tell you why there wasn’t a show last week and this week’s show will be late.  Last week, Lonnie was out of town for the weekend at a speaking engagement related to his book.  This week, the computer is trying to eat the podcast.  Yes, I know, the printer tried to eat the last one, but this time, the computer is trying to destroy it.

We recorded the show on Saturday, and then we saved it.  Or at least we thought we did.  It turns out that the machine that we record on is infested with Spyware, because for some reason, the last time I reformatted and reinstalled windows on that machine, I completely forgot to put any kind of spyware protection on it. Anyway, due to complications, only about 10 seconds of the podcast got saved.  Now, once I get the spyware cleaned off of the computer, it is possible that I might be able to recover the show and we can get it up in a day or so.  Otherwise, I gotta get Lonnie back over here so we can record it again.

I hate technical difficulties…

Hey guys, Chuck here.  There will be a show this week, and it’s my fault it isn’t up yet.  Lonnie is still without internet at home, and he has been having car troubles that make it difficult to get to work, so he asked me to edit and upload the show this week.  And I haven’t gotten around to it yet (guess I got out of the habit).  But I’m doing it today, and I’ll upload it this evening, scout’s honor.  Thanks for your patience.  Hopefully Lonnie will have internet back again soon and the last remnants of the nasty ice storm will be behind us.

Just a quick update on the state of the podcast.  Some of you may know that Springfield, MO was hit with a really bad ice storm on the weekend of January 12-14.  This storm knocked out power to the vast majority of Springfield.  Lonnie was without power for a couple of days, but thankfully he wasn’t out for very long.  I, on the other hand, was without power for almost 10 days.  My family stayed with my parents until Saturday night when they also lost power.  So my family ended up at Lonnie’s house Saturday and Sunday night, until we thankfully got our power turned back on on Monday.

Several thousand people in Springfield are still without power, and there are many, many more without power in the outlying areas.  Lonnie is currently without internet access (although he can get on the net at work).  The good news is that we recorded episode 71 on Saturday.  The bad news is that we had to record over at Lonnie’s house, and he currently has the episode, but his ability to upload it is limited since he is without internet access at his house. 

Thanks for being patient with us on this.  Episode 71 is another voicemail episode.  This is because we had previously downloaded copies of the voicemails, but unfortunately we had no way of getting online to check our current emails, put together show notes, check the forums, or research any new Frugal Gamers or Features.  I have to say, this was a good batch of voicemails, with a lot of good ideas for future shows and several good comments on previous episodes.

Since I have power and internet back, this coming week’s episode should be more back on track.  I apologize for the inconvenience.
